Signing Day 2010

February 3, 2010

JUSTIN PARKER CLEMSONClemson signed a top 20 recruiting class today. 17 of Clemson's 23 signees (74%) had SEC offers. You can read Dabo Swinney's press conference here. This story stood out to me:

"When did you feel like you had Justin Parker?
Swinney: I was at Tavaris Barnes’ house last Tuesday night. Walking out with Jeff Scott. He called me walking out of the house and said ‘I’m coming to Clemson.’ He was playing a video game and he said I wanted to let you know I’m coming to Clemson. He didn’t want to make it public until today. Tuesday, Jan. 19 he called and said he was coming and has been solid as a rock ever since."

With all the players they have to evaluate and recruit, college football coaches' cell phone contact lists must be off the chain.

Clemson vs. Middle Tennessee

September 6, 2009

We had a good time at the Middle Tennessee game yesterday. See here for my unprofessional (and brevity-ridden) evaluation along with a few videos of the game.

Have you ever wondered what it looks like when wealthy white women go absolutely apey over college football players? Well, check these out these ladies across from us at Tiger Walk:

March 11, 2009

Dabo Swinney is having a three-day football camp for adults.

Regardless of your age or athletic ability now you can play football at Clemson and experience the tradition!

WHEN: April 17-19, 2009.

WHO: Adults men and women, 21 years of age or older, who simply have a passion for Tiger football. Roster is limited to 100 total players & honorary coaches and legends. Football Fantasy Camp participants generally range in age from mid-20's to 70's; including alumni and fans, with an average age of around 45 years. They come from all professions, walks of life and parts of the country. Many have played high school football, but many have not. Some are good athletes, while others are not. They all simply love Clemson!!!

WHY: Fantasy Camp is designed for the Tiger fan who really wants to get inside the football program as never offered before. How else can you meet the coaching staff, learn how they coach, and then get coached on the field? How else could you get to know and share time with former star players and legends? Plus, you meet other adults who share your football fantasy as well as your deep love for Clemson football.

WHERE: On Clemson University’s campus, Clemson, S.C. You will have access to all the football facilities, many of which are off-limits to the general public. Only Fantasy Camp players and Varsity student athletes get to dress in the Death Valley home locker room, have team meetings and eat team meals in the West End Zone, practice on the adjoining fields, play in Death Valley, take the game-day bus ride from the Locker Room-around the stadium to Howard’s Rock and run down the hill with Coach Swinney.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The State Newspaper is Confused Again

November 29, 2008

I'm having a good evening, can you tell?

Clemson has never played USC in football, by the way.

Cock 'N Fire

Dabo Swinney has now dispatched two NFL head coaches in a row (Virginia's Al Groh and Soccer Liner's Steve Spurrier), both of whom had two weeks to prepare for Clemson.

In fact, Clemson may have retired another Soccer Liner Legend, as Spurrier and his vaunted defense couldn't even beat Clemson's Wide Receivers coach.

Hire Him

He deserves it.
